Ron at his desk

Ronald C. Hurlburt's foundation and interest in land surveying began with four years of draftsman training at a vocational/technical high school.

In the the late 1970's, while still in high school and upon graduating, Ron spent several years working for a small, private civil engineering firm. Thereafter, he spent several years working for other small private and large international engineering/surveying firms. He then assisted in building the business of LWF Land Surveying and spent the next 22 years honing his skills in all aspects of commercial and residential land surveying, building a large client base. His survey experience includes working on projects for transportation, advertising, large and small development, both commercial and residential properties along with boundary disputes. This has given him and the firm the experience of a wide range of business, clientele and knowledge that his clients have come to know and trust.

In 2003, Ron passed the national and state exam to become a licensed land surveyor. Shortly thereafter he left LWF Land Surveying and spent the next six years at Juliano Associates in Wallingford, CT as chief of survey running a six man survey department, responsible for all aspects of the survey portion of the engineering/surveying firm.  The firm representated a wide array of professional surveying and engineering services representing clients being private/residential, legal matters and developers for large subdivision development.

In the fall of 2011, with more than 30 years of wide ranging experience, Ron decided to venture out on his own and start his own business, bringing with him the experience and clientele relations he had gained. Ron continues to expand his knowledge and stay up to date in the latest technology and legal aspects of surveying by actively and continually attending meetings and seminars within the land surveying profession. He formerly held the position of president for the South Central Connecticut Surveyors Proprietors Council, is an active member of the Connecticut Association of Land Surveyors, and enters/wins annually in the State mapping design competition of survey mapping.

Recently, the firm has expanded its business capabilities with the acquisition of survey records of James E. Nagle, L.S. (New Haven County), Richard J. Ziobron, L.S. (Middlesex County). and has full access of records to Barden Survey, LLC.
